BMW has launched a new music discovery podcast hosted by former BBC Radio presenter Edith Bowman. Play Next, conceptualised by Wasserman and produced by Listen, is a 10-episode series conceived in conjunction with Acast and FBC Inferno, with DOLCE providing music supervision and licensing across the entire series. On September 7th the podcast took the number one chart position for music content on the UK Apple Podcasts app.
Play Next focuses on brand new releases by artists pushing the boundaries of music today, with each episode also featuring a special guest discussing emerging trends in the industry. Highlights include a conversation with film scorer Hans Zimmer on music and technology as well as DJ Gilles Peterson’s exploration of the future of festivals.
We curated and licensed the music selection that provides the podcast’s main focus: a contemporary journey through the best new releases from across the globe. Highlights include tracks by London singer Arlo Parks, Oxford guitarist Willie J Healey, and Irish rapper Biig Piig, as well as a host of cutting-edge artists working across hip hop, indie, pop and electronic music.
