BMW Play Next x All Points East

Following the success of last year’s ten-part launch series, we teamed up with BMW, Wasserman and Listen again in 2021 for a one-off episode of the Play Next podcast celebrating the return of live music. Hosted by former BBC Radio presenter Edith Bowman, and produced in partnership with All Points East festival, this special episode expands on the new music discovery concept by making live performance the focus — with a host of exciting acts at the heart.

We licensed the music that serves as the podcast’s primary focus, with live performances of Sri Lankan-Swiss R&B singer Priya Ragu, 21-year-old London artist Aziya and indie bands Swim School and SCORS among the highlights recorded at All Points East in August. Rounding off the episode’s diverse selection are cuts from Cardiff-born DJ and producer Elkka and former BBC Sound of 2012 nominee Lianne La Havas — the latter of whom was a BMW Play Next stage headliner at this year’s event.
