NTS Radio ‘Sounds on Screen’

NTS Radio’s new series ‘Sounds On Screen’ offers expertly-curated mixes showcasing music from the world’s finest films. Strands include an hour-long “synth noir” stream taken from the movies of Michael Mann, featuring transcendental pieces from Tangerine Dream’s scores to ‘The Keep’ and ‘Thief’. An episode dedicated to New Queer Cinema director Gregg Araki, meanwhile, champions the unconventional shoegaze soundtracks of ’90s films like ‘The Doom Generation’.

Further afield, ‘Sounds on Screen’ highlights international film movements like the French ‘Cinema du Look’ of the ’80s, The Hong Kong New Wave, and Satoshi Kon animations such as ‘Perfect Blue’ and ‘Paprika’.
