Burberry AW20

Burberry’s autumn/winter runway show was a highlight of London Fashion Week. Designer Riccardo Tisci’s fourth runway collection was a nostalgic journey, based on memories from his early life. His childhood in India was expressed with wraps and layered tunics, while his youth in East London was referenced through preppy-sports attire.

The show took place in the Olympia fashion hall, where Arca shared the stage with French pianists Katia and Marielle Labèque. Performing on two grand pianos in the centre of a mirror-panelled runway, the trio created a unique and powerful soundscape to accompany the collection. Putting their twists on pieces by Phillip Glass and Franz Schubert, they pulled off an exciting mix of classical and electronic music to parallel the fusing of cultures in Tisci’s show.
