Transformer: The Rebirth of Wonder
‘Transformer: The Rebirth of Wonder’ is a brand new multimedia exhibition taking place at 180 The Strand. Curated by Dazed magazine founder Jefferson Hack, the installation invites patrons to confront issues of representation, identity and self-esteem in order to create a brighter future.
This immersive exhibition comprises of 14 emerging artists work, with standout pieces including Doug Aitken’s abstract exploration of the first mobile phone call in 1973, Lawrence Lek’s CGI nightclub, and Harley Weir’s safe room photography.
The exhibition takes its name from beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s 1958 poem ‘I Am Waiting’, which called for a renewed perspective of America in the face of a complicated national identity and numerous societal problems.
‘Transformer: The Rebirth of Wonder’ is presented by The Store X The Vinyl Factory. It runs until December 8th, 2019.
