Tim Walker: Wonderful Things

‘Wonderful Things’ is a new exhibition at the V&A that looks at the work and creative process of one of the most prolific fashion photographers of our time, Tim Walker.

Walker’s career spans 25 years. Since his first story for Vogue was published in 1994 he has featured consistently in the British, American and Italian versions of the magazine. He staged his first major exhibition at the Design Museum in 2008, and has gone on to publish books, short films, and collections of portraiture and illustration.

The exhibition features photos, film footage, sets and installations, and includes a new series of works inspired by objects from the museum’s collections and archives. The gallery is transformed into an immersive, fairy-tale world with the help of set designer and long term collaborator Shona Heath, who brings the surreal elements of Walker’s photographs to life.

Tim Walker: Wonderful Things is at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, from September 21, 2019 – March 8, 2020.
