Yu Su

Canadian electronic artist Yu Su has announced a new EP on Second Circle, a sub-division of Amsterdam label Music From Memory.

‘泉出通川为谷 / Roll With The Punches’ will be Kaifeng-born Su’s debut release for the label. The title alludes to a Chinese metaphor linked to Daoism that refers to the valley where “the ten thousand things” are born, and will eventually co-exist. The subject is emblematic of Su’s work, which is meditative and expansive by nature – built around complex, ambient soundscapes and downtempo rhythms.

‘Little Birds, Moonbath’, which also features Michelle Helene Mackenzie, is the first track to be released from the EP. Built around shimmering synth pads, a percussive beat and the sounds of crashing waves, it serves as a dreamy introduction to the Vancouver artist’s compositional talents.
