Steven Tai SS19
Continuing our collaboration with fashion designer Steven Tai, we created a 2-hour soundtrack for this seasons 70’s inspired presentation. The collection reveals a romantic side to the Steven Tai aesthetic and is inspired by Sofia Coppola’s film The Virgin Suicides, Christo & Jeanne-Claude’s wrapped sculptures and seventies interiors.
Tai created a glamorous and dreamy atmosphere, with models standing within a curtain of suspended flowers, dressed in flares and frothy dresses in shades of tangerine, sunflower and lavender. We put together an eclectic mix for the show, including artists such as Patrick Cowley, Rachel Sweet, Robert Wyatt and Arthur Russell.
In addition to the collection came the launch of Tai’s ‘Portrait Positive’ book, a collaboration with renowned fashion photographer Rankin for the Changing Faces charity. The campaign aims to challenge perceptions of beauty in the fashion industry through a series of striking images of 16 different women with visible facial and bodily differences – many of who featured in the AW18 presentation.
