Japan : 1980s

We recently selected some of our favourite Japanese records from the 1980s for LBB Online. The list features a variety of synthpop, new wave, ambient and technological exotica, highlighting the diverse movement of experimental music coming out of Japan at the time. The era was heavily influenced by the seminal techno-pop group Yellow Magic Orchestra, who made a huge impact on popular music culture in both Japan and around the world.
