Ken Price – A Survey of Sculptures and Drawings
Don’t miss: Ken Price – A Survey of Sculptures and Drawings at Hauser & Wirth.
Heavily influenced by the wild landscape of Taos, New Mexico, where the artist resided for the majority of his career, Price’s work draws inspiration from the undulating hills and traditional architecture that surrounded him, as well as the thriving surf culture of the early 6os.
These influences merge to create psychedelic and often comic depictions of volatile places, sparsely inhabited by nude figures and alien idols. Working across these two mediums, Price creates a totally spaced-out universe reminiscent of ‘Barbarella – Queen of the Galaxy’ or Sun Ra’s ‘Space is the Place’. For more info click here.
